I am interested in tutoring occasionally because, as an senior English and Government major at Georgetown University, am deciding whether or not to pursue teaching - most likely at a high school level after I graduate. I believe I am well qualified because I have strong organizational and study skills and have 3 younger siblings, all of which I have helped with school work. I was very into science, specifically biology and marine biology, in high school and some of my coursework reflects that interest but have since decided to focus on government and English as I believe writing is my greatest strength. I received 4's or 5's on History, Biology, English and American Government AP tests and scored a 1430 on the SATs. Last semester I was lucky enough to study abroad in Florence, Italy which was an incredible experience and where I learned a lot about the Italian language and culture. The past two summers I have held positions at both at Vertrue, inc.(an internet marketing company based in Norwalk, CT) as a corporate development intern and at American Media, inc. as an editorial intern and am currently considering pursuing teaching, most likely at the high school level.

Hobbies:

I have three younger siblings - a sister and two brothers - and so am used to being around and working with kids. I play club lacrosse at Georgetown and also love soccer, tennis, skiing and all water sports. I'm a hard worker but also love to have fun!

I am a current Freshman at Georgetown University with a big appetite for knowledge and teaching. I have an in depth knowledge of standardized tests and scored a 2270 on my SAT (with a perfect score of 800 on the new writing portion). On my AP's I scored all 4's and 5's in subjects ranging from History and Government to Chemistry and Spanish. I am currently a Political Science/Government Major, with a strong love for American politics, government, and history. I have taken classes ranging from political theory and philosophy to 19th century Victorian literature. This semester, I will also be interning for Senator Feinstein up on Capitol Hill. I can tutor most any subject, and will do so in a way that is both fun and interesting, and I will makes sure you retain most everything you learn for when the important tests come up. I tutored two sisters ages 8 and 11 in Spanish the summer before my freshman year of High School. I spent my entire junior year of high school studying abroad in Zaragoza, Spain. All of my courses were taught in Spanish by native speakers. I also spent the fall semester of my junior year of college studying abroad in Santiago, Chile and teaching typing and writing skills in Spanish to a group of middle aged women who had never used a computer before. This required lots of patience and consideration and a strong command of the Spanish language.
