Experience

Tutored physics, precalculus, and geometry in 10th, 11th, and 12th grade. Peer College Counselor in 11th grade helping other students with the SAT/ACT and information for college preparation. SAT score: 1960 composite (no preparation available at school), highest subscore was 710 in Writing. AP scores: 4 in English Literature, 4 in Calculus AB, 4 in Psychology. I would like to be a tutor because I have enjoyed helping others throughout grade school; the personal satisfaction of being able to assist others is priceless. I've taken the highest level college prep classes in high school and have gone through training for geometry tutoring and peer college counseling. I was the salutatorian of my graduating class and took community college classes starting in the 9th grade (received "A"s in my English classes including Composition and Critical Thinking- the highest level requirement for non-English majors- and in Political Science 001 and College Intermediate Algebra).

Hobbies

I'm a college student originally from Los Angeles who has interests in a lot of different areas; one of my greatest passions is English history (particularly Tudor) and music. I play the piano (started when I was 11) and have studied at the Colburn School for a few months. I know the basic of violin and oboe. Other than that, I love to have close friends and engage in discussion. I also love trying new things (like food) and exploring new places. I'm really into soccer (though I don't play it) and I like to go hiking. Overall, although I'm really into studying and believe in the importance of academics, I also believe it's essential to have fun with what you're doing and to enjoy what you're learning (at least most of the time).
