Experience
I attended George Washington University to study international affairs. As an undergraduate, I was able to perform community service in Central America and in the United States. I also had the opportunity to study abroad in Egypt and the Czech Republic. After graduation I studied Arabic in Egypt and taught at an elementary school. I also tutored privately, teaching students English, math, test preparation, and essay writing. Currently I am an assistant kindergarten teacher at a charter school. As a tutor, I connect well with my students and form relationships with them. I enjoy the opportunity to work individually with students and focus on their needs. I also prioritize introducing some fun into sessions. A laugh or two along the way can help students stay focused and motivated to learn. My overall goal is for my students to enjoy learning with me and to make progress in their studies. I can tutor students in elementary and middle school level math, essay writing and editing, English grammar, phonics, reading, and writing. When I have free time, I like to hang out with my family. I also enjoy being active. I have run a half marathon, and I play a kickball team. I also like to do yoga, hike, ski, and dance. Other interests include playing with my cat, reading, trying out new restaurants, and traveling.
