Experience
I have a wide multi-subject background that has enabled me to assist students in a multitude of subjects. I currently am working toward degrees in both Environmental and International studies, with a Literature minor at American University in Washington, D.C. My background includes tutoring students who are in advanced and gifted classes as well as working with those who are struggling. I am qualified to tutor in English, history, pre-algebra, Spanish, standardized test preparation (PSAT, SAT, AP US History), and many other subjects.I believe in working with students on an individual basis to help define their problem areas and then developing a plan for success. By involving the student from the beginning of the process, I help address the concerns and struggles they feel are most important and help them build confidence in themselves. Not only do I address academic concerns, but I also work with students to build study and organization skills that will benefit them throughout their academic career.Having moved to Washington D.C. from California, I have found many differences between the East and West Coast. I find exploring the D.C. area a fun thing to do in my free time. I also enjoy hiking, running, mountain biking, writing, and curling up with a good book.
