Experience
A Phi Beta Kappa, I am a graduate of Wesleyan University, where I got my bachelor's degree in Sociology with high honors. Since then, I have been doing research at a think-tank, where I study how to improve public health care for those who are not currently receiving it.As a tutor, my strength is working with students to help them test well, both in standardized testing and in the college application process. I teach written and verbal skills along with literature and reading comprehension to students at all academic levels. I also believe I can help any student write a brilliant essay for their college application that will get them noticed. I also make it easy for students to ace their standardized tests by teaching them how to look at problems, and I help to eliminate their anxiety by giving them lots of experience in actual testing situations.Keeping my students motivated is a matter of providing a stress-free learning environment, while showing them how to improve test scores, and thus their grades. As students increase their verbal skills and reading ability, they become more confident, which also leads to classroom success. For fun, I like to cook, work out, paint, travel, and meet new people.
