Private tutor in Washington, DC
Education
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign - BS, Sociology , Georgetown University - MS, Physiology
Experience
I earned my B.A. in Sociology (Chemistry minor) from the University of Illinois (UIUC) and then an M.S. in Physiology from Georgetown. I'm a sports fan and an athlete. I go to the gym and especially enjoy soccer, basketball, and football, and played high school basketball for four years and college football for one. During my undergraduate years, I tutored in an after school program for 9th-12th graders, and assisted many college bound seniors with applications and admissions essays, along with general guidance on the application process. I've always enjoyed math -- even in elementary school -- and it remains one of my favorite subjects to tutor. I particularly enjoy tutoring students in algebra, but I'm also comfortable with everything from elementary math to calculus. I'm planning to attend medical school, so am also able to work with students in physics, biology, chemistry, and biochemistry. I'm also well versed in several AP subjects. I always strive to ensure that my students receive the greatest possible value from our sessions, pushing them to find new approaches. My role isn't to do the work, but to provide the guidance that allows students to work through challenges themselves.
