Experience
I am a tutor with extensive experience in Language Arts. I tutor many subjects and have a broad set of skills. I also enjoy teaching a variety of classes. I have a wealth of experience teaching, beginning with Breakthrough Collaborative Santa Fe. With this program, I spent summers away from college teaching English, science, and reading to middle school students. After college, I worked at Benjamin Franklin International School in Barcelona, Spain as a teaching assistant and elementary teacher for ESL students. I have also been an instructor for undergraduate Spanish classes, with levels ranging from beginners to advanced students. While the language arts are my specialty, I also tutor many different subjects, including Biology, SAT test preparation, Grammar and Mechanics, Literature, Spanish, Reading, and Writing. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Literature and Culture from Brown University. I went on to achieve my Master of Arts in Hispanic Linguistics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Currently I am working on my Ph.D. in Spanish Linguistics at Georgetown University, with a focus on Second Language Acquisition. When I am not wrapped up in academia, I live a very active life and enjoy playing soccer, practicing yoga, running, hiking, and skiing. I also love to sing and have been a member of many choirs and musical groups.
