As a tutor, I take care to focus on each individual student's cultural and educational backgrounds so that I can tailor each lesson to their particular needs. Having a student-based, open minded approach to tutoring is the best way to ensure the success of each individual. In addition to honoring cultural differences, I have experience working with students who have emotional and behavioral problems. My bachelor's degrees in Sociology and Criminal Justice, my master's degree in Public Administration, and my doctoral degree in Management in Organizational Leadership have all equipped me to tutor a variety of subjects, such as AP U.S. Government, Social Studies, and Math. My favorite subjects to work with students on are Essay Writing & Editing, English, and Grammar and Mechanics. I have had to do a great deal of writing in my own academic career and have cultivated the ability to efficiently convey ideas in writing in a way that is easily understood by the reader. I use this knowledge gained from my own experience to teach students how to improve their own writing. While at Delaware State University, I tutored students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. I have also tutored professionally at an elementary school.When not working, I like to exercise, cook, spend time in restaurants, engage in religious study, volunteer, travel, and laugh.
