Experience
My tutoring specialty is helping students prepare for the Graduate Record Examination and the SAT. I have been doing this for more than five years. I work with a range of students, from high school-aged to professionals looking to earn a graduate degree. I have taught every section of both tests, and I can customize my approach based on what a student wants to focus on to ensure success. I also make myself available via email outside of class so students can reach me to get answers to questions.I received a Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt in English and History, then I spent a year in Japan teaching English. After that, I moved to Washington, D.C. for a Smithsonian-based jazz internship. I followed that by attending George Washington University to earn my master's in History. During that time, I was also employed at the National Archives in Exhibits. I now work in Native American policy.Outside of work, I like to prepare foods from various cultures. I also travel the globe and have visited more than 30 countries, including recent trips to Cambodia and Vietnam. Seeing family and friends is also important to me, which is why I make the effort to get home to Wisconsin every holiday season.
