Experience

Hello! My name is Dana, and I currently live in Washington D.C. area. I am a graduate of Longwood University. My philosophy in teaching is to recognize each child's individuality in learning and comprehension. I can guarantee lesson plans that will nurture their abilities and provide them the confidence they need to pass their courses successfully, while promoting intellectual and spiritual growth. My lessons are also developed individually to reflect the interests of the student, which will apply relevancy of the material to real-life situations. I also like to incorporate interactive lessons, individual and group lessons, and themes so that the students are involved in their learning process. I am able to tutor courses in elementary and middle school mathematics; pre-algebra; algebra 1, 2, 3, and 4; precalculus; trigonometry; reading; public speaking; and English. I enjoy spending my free time with my family, and stay active by going hiking. I also enjoy drawing, crafting, and photography.
