In the past, I have worked with students ages 9-17 from across the U.S. I've worked as a respected historical tour guide in Washington D.C. for years. I enjoy seeing history come to life. I can engage students on various subjects which include American history and our political system that has been in motion since 1787. Also, I have tutored reading and comprehension to elementary school students and reading, European history, geography, and public speaking. I try to make all materials relatable to the student, which is an important part of my learning philosophy. The subjects of history and government are never boring except for some of those who teach it.First, I work to find each individual student's passion, then engage that interest to boost the learning process and get my tutee on the road to academic success. I graduated Saint Vincent College with a bachelor's in history. My master's from Duquesne University is in the same subject and I obtained that in 2006. I have done many writing, research, and historical interpretation jobs in the Washington D.C. area since, so I know a great deal about history. In my downtime I like to work out, run, and ride my bike.
