Experience
I want to be a tutor because I really enjoy working with people to help them advance their academic potential. I spent four years volunteering in the elementary school system where I mentored children in helping them overcome their struggles and assisted them to develop social skills to improve their social interaction with their peers. I have experience working with students in special education, especially those who are on the autism spectrum. I helped special education students reach their highest potential by setting high standards for them while at the same time positively reinforcing them in their academic performance. There were even times where I held leadership positions in the classroom. For example, I was in charge of a reading group in a sixth grade education classroom that discussed a particular book the group was reading. I also assisted students in the ESL classroom, particularly in grades 1 and 2. I helped them to build essential skills in the areas of reading and writing in English. I have taken certificate courses at Northern Virginia Community, including: 1. Math, science, and social-studies for children 2. Reading skills for children 3. Exceptional children In addition to my experience working with kids, I also have worked with adults. In 2013, I was a online, freelance ESL tutor for a language learning social networking site called iTalki. I helped adults from all over the globe improve their English language conversation skills. I did this by leading discussions on various topics and assist students to properly understand reading material in English.

Hobbies
It is pretty much hard to determine what exactly my hobbies are because I am into whatever life has to offer. I appreciate all the good things life has to offer. However, if I have any hobbies, they would include food, video games, watching sports, listening to music, languages, amusement parks, and anything else that appears to be fun.
