EducationUndergraduate student at American University majoring in International Studies and pursuing a French to English translation certificate. I'm planning to graduate in May 2012 and my cumulative GPA is 3.90.
ExperienceMy SAT scores were 800 in writing, 700 in mathematics, and 680 in the verbal section. My score was 5 for the following AP tests: English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, Latin IV (Horace and Catullus), and US History. I scored a 4 on the AP European History exam. Recently I was selected by school to join Phi Beta Kappa (a national liberal arts honors society) and I will be inducted in May 2011. I am also a member of the University Honors Program at American University.
HobbiesI work in the scene shop at the Greenberg Theater (in Tenleytown) during the school year. I help construct sets, set up lighting equipment, and work backstage during some performances. Some of my current academic interests include French literature and translation, international environmental politics, and international development. I studied abroad in Nairobi, Kenya, during the fall 2010 semester and learned about different cultures within Kenya while taking classes at a Kenyan university and interning with a Kenyan grassroots NGO working to improve access to water and sanitation services in Nairobi's slums.
