Experience
I have worked in government for over 15 years in various capacities, mainly related to customer service. I have led innovative changes, including the creation of over 35 online services for customers. I have also served as a project manager and consultant. I began my career as an officer in the military. I enjoy helping youth succeed in school and in life. For the past 10 years, I have been a reading mentor at an elementary school. I also tutored, mainly math, at a high school for two years. With an engineering degree, I have always excelled in math. I have the ability to break concepts down into bite size pieces for students to understand. While in high school, I often assisted my classmates in math. Although I yearned to be an English school teacher growing up, I ended up going in another direction. However, I was able to test out of my first year of college English due to my advanced placement English classes. Two of my strengths, which are often utilized at work, are my proofreading and public speaking skills. I honed both of these skills during Air Force ROTC in college.
