Private tutor in Washington, DC

Education

I am a Senior at Catholic University, majoring in Politics with a minor in Philosophy and French. I have a 3.4 GPA and am a member of the Phi Gamma Mu honors society.

Experience

I have babysat for the past nine years, and always tutored the kids I babysat. I was also a homework helper in high school. I scored a 720 on my English SAT, and a 700 on the writing section. I would like to be a tutor because I have an off-beat learning style and spend a lot of time re-teaching myself what I learn in the classroom. I understand that many kids have different methods of learning, and that learning material from a different perspective can greatly alter grades, confidence, and understanding of the material, in general. I have taken a wide range of classes in history, politics, English, and French that would help me to help kids. I am a very competent writer, and spent the past summer working as a researcher for a Member of Parliament in the House of Commons in London. Persuasive writing is one of my strongest suits, so if your child is struggling with writing, I believe that I could help him/her very much with that.
