Experience
Member of the National Honor Society AP scores: Spanish (4), Biology (4) SAT score: 1960 NHS volunteer tutor for 2 years in high school; Algebra tutor for 1 semester in high school 4 years of Spanish in high school, 1 semester of intermediate level Spanish in college 2 years of biology in high school, 1 semester biological anthropology in college 2 semesters of English/writing courses from Syracuse University, 2 semesters of writing/creative writing courses from GWU I am interested in tutoring high school aged to elementary school aged students because I enjoy working with children and teenagers, and I believe that being a young student as well provides a common ground on which to build a relationship with the students who need extra help outside of the classroom. The traditional classroom environment can be bland and uninspiring, or intimidating and overwhelming for certain students, and I hope to make a real impact and truly help improve the knowledge and skills of those students who may be more successful in a one-to-one learning situation. I am passionate about doing what I am able to in order to help others.
