Private tutor in Washington, DC
Education
Temple University - Bachelors, English; Italian
Experience
I was born and raised in Philadelphia. In 2012, I graduated cum laude from Temple University with English and Italian degrees. Following graduation, I moved to Sardinia to work as an English as a Foreign Language teacher. While there, I served as a freelance Italian-to-English translator as well. I returned to the US in 2013. Since then, I have taught at a local nonprofit to prepare students for the SAT. I am enrolled at the Georgetown University Law Center, where I am working on my degree in international and human rights law. As a tutor, I believe in the value of building a relationship with the student that I am teaching. My top subjects as a tutor are TOEFL and test prep for the LSAT, SAT, and GRE. I use an enthusiastic approach to teaching while focusing on developing analytical skills vital to the subject at hand. My teaching style is flexible and patient, allowing the student to learn at a natural pace without feeling rushed. I work hard to help the student improve their self-confidence and understanding of the concepts needed to succeed in the target subject. I am a big wrestling and boxing fan who also enjoys crotchet and cooking.
