Experience
I've always loved education. I studied international relations in college, and then I spent a year teaching English in Japan. I found it very rewarding to help students make progress in their understanding of the language. My teaching philosophy is based on guiding students on the learning path without giving away answers. I believe that this helps students develop independent learning skills like critical thinking and problem-solving that they can use to apply towards the current subject and all learning in the future. I also like to help students understand why what their learning is important and how it will help them in their long-term life goals. I also really enjoy writing, and I think that effective writing communication is a crucial skill for students that many don't learn about until college. I'm excited to help students in writing, essays, grammar, public speaking, ESL, reading, and other English related subjects. In my free time, I enjoy movies, reading, science fiction, exercise, learning foreign languages, and playing games.
