Experience
I started tutoring by assisting my little sister with handwriting when I was 10 years old. I come from a family of academics, so education is always really important in our household. I really enjoy learning, and I like to be around learners, so tutoring is a great way to satisfy the need. When I work with students, I want to figure out the way that they learn best. Then, I build on that by teaching using the optimal approach for my students. I went to the University of Iowa to earn my bachelor's degree in the philosophy of human rights. I had the opportunity to study in China as an undergraduate, where I taught English to college and high school level students while learning Mandarin Chinese myself. After I graduated, I worked for AmeriCorps, tutoring underprivileged students in reading and math. I also had the opportunity to tutor college students in South Korea. I then took the LSAT, scoring in the top 2%. I'm looking forward to attending law school in the future. In my spare time, I like to read, play guitar, sing, cook, follow politics, attend concerts, and fix up my apartment.

Hobbies
Reading, of course! I try to alternate between fiction and non-fiction. I also play guitar, sing, and am trying to perfect my quiche-baking methods -- on top staying engaged in local politics. I'm currently renovating my apartment and loving Chicago's free outdoor concerts
