Experience

I went to Florida State University for my bachelor's degree in criminology, graduating magna cum laude and earning minors in Middle Eastern studies and psychology. I would like to return to school in the future for a masters degree in education or counseling. I'm currently teaching fifth grade in a charter school, and I enjoy tutoring middle school and elementary school level students. My specialty is math. I enjoy helping students work through difficult problems to help them figure out how to find the answer on their own. I believe all students can succeed, and it's just a matter of figuring out what teaching approach works best for them. Tutoring is really valuable because students can get individual attention to work through their learning obstacles effectively using the teaching style that matches their learning style. I identify where students need help by having them teach me, and later on I have them teach me to ensure they have made improvements and understand concepts properly. In my free time, I enjoy playing and coaching lacrosse and field hockey, going on hikes with my dog, shopping, cooking, and trying out new restaurants.
