Private tutor in Washington, DC
George Washington University - Bachelor in Arts, Psychology - Industrial/Organizational
My goal as a tutor is to assist students in understanding the learning process, while developing the skills needed to learn and then applying the knowledge across several different subjects and levels. I admit that learning is not easy; however when the students are provided with the correct tools, learning can be enjoyable as well as challenging. I believe that there are several components to the learning process: differences in the situation and the individual, orientation, control, and engagement. I strive to assist, teach, and inspire. Some of the subjects that I tutor are Math, Reading, Writing, Test Prep, Science, and Psychology. Math areas include Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Calculus, Statistics, Elementary Math, Middle School Math, Pre-Algebra, ACT Math, and math at any grade level. Reading and writing areas include reading and writing at any grade level, ACT English, ACT Reading, and Essay Writing. Also, I tutor science at any grade level and Psychology.I attended George Washington University and majored in Psychology. Over the years I have been able to voice the reasons that I chose Psychology as a major and how it contributes to the community. Some of my hobbies, other than tutoring others, are running, hiking, reading, cooking, computer coding, and art.
