Experience
I lived in China for nearly two years studying predominantly Mandarin and living with a host family for about half that time. I scored a 5 on the AP test and have taken all GW's upper level language courses, including Classical Chinese, Advanced Conversation and Composition, and Chinese Linguistics, which has granted me the opportunity to gain some experience doing translation work for the Red Cross and a small non-profit organization called International Action. I am also a psychology minor, and have taken courses in biological, abnormal, developmental and health psychology. As for Arabic, I have studied Modern Standard Arabic for the equivalent of five years at university level and spent a semester abroad in Morocco with a non-English-speaking host family studying the Moroccan dialect. I enjoy all of these subjects immensely and am delighted to share my expertise with anyone who expresses an interest as well. I am very patient and believe education to be an extremely gratifying experience.

Though my interest in learning languages goes beyond my academic life and I could call it my biggest hobby, I also enjoy reading, cooking, yoga, shopping for used clothing, and spending time with my friends and family. Above all, though, I live for travel.
