Experience
I have been mentoring students since high school, when I tutored them in science. When I got to college, I taught elementary school kids reading and math. Personally, I prefer the subject of math because it relies on application and reasoning instead of rote memorization the way a lot of other subjects do. Students might not remember every single bit of material, but when they are taught specific skills--such as addition and subtraction--they can go on to use those skills for their entire lives. As a tutor, that is a rewarding feeling for me and I am glad to be a part of that.I work hard at making learning something that my students can enjoy and get something from. I know that not every student learns the same way so it is my job to tailor the work to their particular learning needs.Right now, I am working on a master's degree in Forensic Psychology at George Washington University because I plan to get a job in law enforcement. My bachelor's degree was earned at St. Lawrence University in Psychology and Mathematics-Economics. My minor at the undergraduate level was Statistics. When I am not tutoring or studying myself, I like to dance.
