My name is Tazewell Jones, and I am a Junior at The American University double-majoring in Political Science and Criminal Justice. I am no stranger to after-school tutoring. As a high school student, in fact, I served as president of my school's community service club, and spent at least 8 hours per week leading an after-school tutoring session and writing clinic for inner-city youth. In addition to working as a tutor, I also have experience as a babysitter, and am no stranger to working with young people on everything from basic homework to more complex school projects. As it pertains to my own personal standing in school, I currently maintain a 3.4 GPA, and am also founder and president of a leading student organization on my campus. These experiences as a leader, both within my home community as well as here in DC, have provided me with a great deal of knowledge in regards to guiding others towards promising directions. If given the opportunity, I have no doubt that I could effectively do the same for whomever I am working with.
