Education

Currently, I am a graduate student in American University's Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Program. I graduated from Vassar College in May 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Mathematics. My cumulative GPA was a 3.97, and I graduated with both General Honors and Departmental Honors in Psychology. I was also inducted into Phi Beta Kappa in 2009. Additionally, I was the valedictorian of my high school graduating class.

Experience

I have had a lot of tutoring experience. Since graduating from college, I have tutored several high-school-aged students in various school subjects, primarily math. I also tutored a college student in pre-calculus. Additionally, throughout high school and college I tutored elementary-school-aged children, and also tutored a couple of my peers in Spanish, Chemistry, and Mathematics while in high school. As I've stated previously, my background is in clinical psychology. I have experience working and teaching students with behavioral difficulties, including ADHD, and developmental delays. I have done very well on standardized testing. I have taken the SATs twice (the old version), and received an 800 in Verbal and 730 in Math my first time, and an 800 in Verbal and 770 in Math my second time. I never took the ACTs, but I took several AP tests. I received a 4 on the Spanish Language exam and a 5 on World History, American History, Psychology, Calculus BC, English Literature, and Chemistry. I really enjoy tutoring! I love teaching and finding creative ways to help students understand concepts that initially do not seem to make sense to them. Tutoring calls for a combination of creativity and patience and offers huge rewards.
