Education

Hi, I'm Natasha! I recently graduated cum laude from Princeton University, where I concentrated in Middle East Studies and Arabic. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, I spent my senior year of high school taking a full course-load at Case Western Reserve University, earning a 4.0. I have also studied abroad at SOAS, University of London, and La Sorbonne in Paris. I specialize in writing and study/organizational skills, college counseling and college application and essay writing. I have taken many college-level courses in politics, history, psychology, cognitive science, religion, philosophy, and Arabic language.

Experience

I began counseling younger friends through the college application process (choosing schools, assembling a resume, brainstorming and editing essays) several years ago. They now attend Stanford, Princeton, and a number of other top institutions. Throughout college, I tutored a number of Princeton-area high school students to prepare for their AP exams and college applications. As a high school junior, I won an international essay contest run through the U.S. Department of State. I am deeply passionate about global development work and international affairs, and have continued to work with the State Department. In September 2014, I was a featured speaker on a State Department panel on youth activism as part of the International Conference on population and development. As a senior in high school, I served on the international board of Girl Up, a United Nations Foundation campaign that empowers girls in the developing world through programs that further their education, health and safety. In the summer of 2015, I helped to run the first ever WiSci (Women in Science): STEAM Camp, held in Gashora, Rwanda. WiSci was a collaborative effort between the State Department, Girl Up, Intel, and Microsoft, to bring together 130 high-achieving high school girls from across African and the U.S. for several weeks of science and leadership education. I designed the leadership and social justice curriculum while working in the Girl Up office in Washington D.C., and then traveled to Rwanda to serve as a leadership trainer and counselor at the camp. At Princeton, I spent a year and a half as the President of J Street U Princeton, our chapter of a national organization that advocates for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I served on the Princeton Center for Jewish Life's Israel Advisory Board. I was also active in student government; as a member of the Committee for Diversity and Institutional Equity, I conducted detailed research and produced a report about the connections between students' backgrounds and their opportunities at Princeton. Here in Washington, I work as a public sector consultant, helping the U.S. government and other international agencies with global development and security projects.

Hobbies

I am very friendly and love nothing more than getting to know new people! I am also a diligent worker and a (semi-obsessive) organizer and planner. When I'm not working, I enjoy running, playing guitar, spending time with friends, traveling, and reading satirical news. I found my tutoring work throughout college to be immensely rewarding, and have enjoyed keeping in touch with former clients as they update me on their success. Though my job keeps me quite busy, I look forward to helping Washington-area students prepare for college.
