Experience
In all, I have five years of experience tutoring and teaching: -I volunteered as a tutor at an independent elementary school for one year. -I volunteered as a tutor to at-risk youth for the Youth Tutoring Program in Seattle for one year. -I served for one year as an AmeriCorps volunteer as a tutor and mentor to at-risk youth. -I served for two years in the Peace Corps as a youth development volunteer. I taught life skills classes to middle school students and trained teachers how to implement a life skills curriculum (in Spanish). -I was a math major for my first two years of college and earned outstanding grades in upper-level math courses.

Hobbies
Although graduate school takes up most of my time, I am also an avid athlete. I am a competitive cyclist and (much less competitive) distance runner.
