Private tutor in Washington, DC
State University of New York Geneseo - BS, Biology , Uniformed Services University - MD/PhD, Medicine and Microbiology
After graduating from college with a degree in Microbiology, I moved to Washington, D.C., where I started tutoring students to try to help them achieve their educational goals. While in college, I tutored students and gained valuable knowledge about the many different ways that people learn. I realized that some subjects were not as easy to grasp for some students as they were for others, and quickly learned that I had to customize a tutoring plan for each student to ensure that they were able to learn in the way that best suited their skills and knowledge. When I tutor students, I get to know them on a one-on-one basis. I scavenge through numerous resources to discover the most effective way to tutor each student effectively. When I am not working, I enjoy hiking and traveling. I have hiked the Annapurna Mountains in Nepal, the Rocky Mountains, and Mt. Elbert. During one of my hiking trips, I took a course on mountain medicine. When I travel, I enjoy going places I have never been before, trying new things, and meeting new people. I am a bit of a daredevil and love to bungee jump too. I have enjoyed bungee jumping on three different continents and plan to bungee jump on the rest of the continents, except Antarctica, in the future.
