Experience

I believe my role as a tutor is to guide students through their learning process as opposed to reciting information and lecturing. If I can help students become independent in their ability to learn and understand the topic through the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical, and organizational study skills, they are more likely to be successful long term. Students who seek out tutoring are already taking responsibility for their education, and they should be commended for seeking this kind of assistance. This helps them get a jumpstart on their way to independent learning. I encourage students to communicate openly with me, because asking lots of questions and telling me about things that you struggle to understand helps me help you. Overall, the quest for knowledge, the thirst for knowledge, and the refinement of skills to acquire knowledge are the important things for students to have, and the outcomes are the reward. The reward for me is the progress students make in becoming self-sufficient learners. I'm looking forward to helping students find success.
