Experience

I am a current candidate for a Master of Science from Johns Hopkins University. My own academic pursuits as a student, and my accumulated tutoring experience in a wide range of environments, have helped me become an adaptable and creative educator. It is easy for me to understand the needs of my students. I alter my teaching methods accordingly to help them succeed. In a tutoring session, it is my preference to team up with students to find answers. I have found that this method allows greater comfort for the student and, as a result, they absorb more depth from the subject they are studying. Partnering with students and working together works well with any student population. I have worked in various environments, from elementary schools to the Baltimore City prison. Teaming up with the learner worked particularly well at the prison. I see that the student is a whole individual, and that they each may have a different learning style. I recognize the inherent value of the academic material, and as a flexible tutor, I adapt my lessons to the individual needs that she or he has. I look forward to helping you reach your goals! Outside of tutoring, I enjoy sports, weightlifting, guitar, piano, and music.
