Experience
My education, my hobbies, and my profession all stem from my love for reading and writing. I enjoy tutoring students in their writing projects or literary pursuits, and, more importantly, I find mentoring students to be very fulfilling. I believe education is absolutely essential to shaping a person's opinions, their success in life, and their character. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Economics last spring from Reed College. Most recently, I graduated with my Master of Arts in International Development Economics from Yale University. Since then, I have been working for Mercy Corps in communications. My work with Mercy Corps has centered around writing their blog. Currently, I am an intern on the education team with an international development consulting agency. The firm is located in downtown Washington, D.C. I have worked as a tutor throughout all of my academic and professional pursuits. In the past, I helped students prepare for the SAT, and I most enjoy breaking down the writing and critical reading portions. I also tutored students in economics in college, both privately and in class settings. Economics is a favorite subject of mine. When I am not sleeping or working, I enjoy reading, cooking, and learning new styles of dance.
