Experience

Hello! I'm Mary, and I live in Washington D.C. I graduated from the University of Central Florida, and have been teaching for five years now. I teach both general and special education students, and this has provided me with a diverse set of skills to use in planning my curriculum. I also provide individualized lesson planning, as I realize that each student has his or her own method of learning and retaining new information. Additionally, I realize the importance of a student learning the path to finding an answer, rather than just providing an answer. This is a very important factor to consider in science and mathematics courses. I have a great passion for learning, and I strive to help my students develop the same passion. I am able to tutor courses in elementary and middle school mathematics, geometry, reading, writing, phonics, grammar and mechanics, essay editing, handwriting, public speaking, drawing, and English. I can also assist with AP studio art: 2-D design, 3-D design, and drawing. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, cooking, nutrition, and fitness.
