I always get excited when it comes to giving others a lending hand and helping their passions evolve! I have a B.A. from Swarthmore College in Religion and History, and I am currently in the process of obtaining my M.A. in Social Sciences, with an emphasis in History from the University of Chicago. While I was attending Swarthmore College, I mainly worked as a writing tutor, helping students enhance their writing skills. In addition to being a writing tutor, I also tutored at a school in Boston for an entire school year and assisted students in mathematics and humanities. The way I help students grasp concepts is by comparing those same concepts to their everyday lives. In working with the students, I ask them many questions so they can practice their critical thinking skills. I make sure to work with each student closely to better understand his or her individual needs. Although I tutor students in different disciplines, I enjoy tutoring students in English and History the most. These two subjects bring a lot of meaning to my life, and I enjoy showing my students that writing and reading are invaluable. In addition to tutoring, I enjoy backpacking and writing history.
