Experience

I am a tutor from Washington, DC who has a great affinity for math and science. I can confidently tutor different math and science subjects, including organic chemistry, biology, differential equations, and calculus 1 through 3. I mainly have worked with college students who are at varying levels, ranging from top students to those who were not doing very well in these different subjects. When tutoring, my strategy is to teach the main concepts and then allow students to work through assigned problems. If they require help, then I try to guide them through any stumbling blocks that they encounter. I feel that this tutoring approach is very useful because it helps with subject retention. Additionally, when students do not fully understand how to study for mathematics tests, I help them plan out how to effectively use study time to prepare for challenging exams.  I studied chemistry at Vanderbilt University and also received my bachelor's degree from this institution. I went on to do graduate work at New York University, where I earned a master's degree in chemistry. In my spare time, some activities I enjoy doing are dancing, playing video games, reading, and weight lifting.
