Experience
As a tutor, I exhibit a fluid teaching style. This enables me to teach almost any student and get them inspired and knowledgeable about what they are learning. My greatest teaching passions are European history, Latin, and any subject related to grammar, but I will include other disciplines to help students play to their strengths to develop what they are weakest in. I also tutor government, AP U.S. Government & Politics, social studies, American history, and test prep. A liberal arts education is extremely valuable. One of my goals is to inspire students to see and think about the interconnections between various academic subjects so they can really view the big picture as they are learning. At Colby College in Maine, I majored in both Classics and Classical Civilizations. My focus was in a few areas, including grammar, linguistics, ancient government, and ancient philosophy. I was a Latin and Ancient Greek tutor in college and expanded my services to include Roman and Greek history while studying at Colby.Currently I am residing in Washington, D.C. and in my spare time enjoy running, reading, and playing on the computer. I enjoy translating and also play the trumpet when I have the chance.
