Education

Experience

I have approximately four years of tutoring experience. While I believe that my main expertise is in the subject of English, I also tutor in the Spanish language and math. My teaching style is based on real life application. If students cannot relate the information they're learning to real life situations, it is just that much harder for them to grasp the material. I empower students to make mistakes, learn how they made those mistakes, and then learn the proper answers. Each student has his or her own unique way of thinking and retaining information. Because of this, I believe that working one on one with a student tends to be the most effective way of teaching. I graduated from Yale University, where I majored in religious studies and pursued pre-med. Besides academia, I also worked in the Spanish department at Yale, where I was a tutor and grader. I have taught English in the Middle East and in North Africa, where I had the privilege to assist a variety of students and learn about different cultures. When I am not working, I am reading, traveling, and studying cultures. I also love to cook and find myself very interested in the film industry.
