Hobbies

Hello! I am a career teacher who just moved back from 2 years teaching in Sub-Saharan Africa, and am missing interacting with students. I am truly a teacher at heart; nothing makes me happier than the pursuit of knowledge! I'm currently consulting in the international development field, but find working at a computer a poor outlet for my passions. From grammar to history to algebra, I like to show students how much fun understanding the world around us can be, and I am never short of being unapologetically enthusiastic and dorky! It isn't only academics that I love, though. In the schools where I have taught, I have been director of theater programs, managed the yearbook team, have taught art classes, and even started a sewing club. I grew up in various countries overseas and love to travel, experience new cultures, and connect with people from different backgrounds. Being a role model for students of all ages in something I take very seriously. Teaching and modeling what it is to be a critical thinker and a good global citizen is my way of making the world a better place.
