Experience
I am a tutor with extensive experience studying and teaching Spanish. I graduated from Penn State with a bachelor's degree in Spanish and a bachelor's degree in Political Science/International Relations. After graduation, I attended the University of Texas at Austin where I completed a master's degree in Spanish and Latin American Literature. Since then, I have worked in various jobs relating to Spanish interpretation, research, and translation. I also have experience teaching Spanish in the Washington, D.C. area. Additionally, I have experience as an adjunct professor at Northern Virginia Community College and Austin Community College. During my graduate studies, I tutored students in Spanish at the middle school level, high school level, and the collegiate level. In addition to Spanish, I am also comfortable tutoring students in Government and Politics, United States History, Political Science, and Social Studies. My philosophy as a tutor emphasizes helping students with writing in both English and Spanish. I am comfortable teaching students at an individual level or in small groups. In my free time, I like to listen to listen to Latin and jazz music, read, bike, and play the trumpet. As a political science major, I also have a deep passion for the news and politics.
