Private tutor in Washington, DC
Smith College - BA, Government
I'm a tutor based in Alexandria, Virginia who received my bachelor's degree from Smith College. During my years there, I was a Government and Sociology major, and a peer adviser at a career development center helping students with formatting resumes and cover letters.I'm experienced in tutoring many subjects, but my favorites are English and Writing. Here is a list of subjects I mentor students in: Spanish, Vocabulary, World Literature, Languages, Social Studies, US History, Government, Creative Writing, Essay Editing, Poetry Writing, Introduction to Fiction, etc.The majority of the subjects I tutor are related to the written word, which underscores how passionate I am about reading and writing. I don't just limit my writing to academic fields. I also reflect my love for words in the blog I work on. I appreciate the significance of using the right word to express oneself, and I emphasize this to the students I teach on the subject. When I'm not teaching or writing my blog, I love to unwind by playing field hockey and tennis, reading, and hiking. I also love to engage in Tai Chi to stay healthy.I'm not just a tutor, I'm a political activist too. I work at the Women's Bar Association and Foundation of Massachusetts to promote women's rights.
