Private tutor in Washington, DC

Education

Freshman International Studies Major and History Minor at American University

Experience

I have had a wide range of tutoring experiences over the past years. During my first year here in DC I have worked with the DC Reads Program, during which I helped improve the reading and writing abilities of children aged 6-10. Along with this, I am a tutor at the Academic Center at American University where I tutor subjects such as World Politics and Economics. I have taught English as a second language to college freshman from China for two years during which we focused on improving their English conversational and writing skills. My fluency in Russian and intermediate knowledge of Spanish have provided me with a good understanding of how others learn and process new languages. With each one of my clients I make sure to explain the material thoroughly, along with coming up with practice exercises for them so that they can solidify the new information learned.
