Private tutor in Washington, DC

The Ohio State University - BA, MA, English , The University of Texas at Austin - PhD, Media Studies

I'm a tutor in the Washington, D.C., area with Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in English, as well as a Ph.D. in Film Studies. For the past 12 years, I've worked as a college-level teacher at numerous universities across the country, including the University of Texas at Austin, Georgetown University, Ohio State University, and the University of Maryland. Additionally, I also spent seven years working as a grader for the AP English Composition test.I enjoy tutoring students in English, especially working with them to complete large writing projects and editing final drafts of papers they've completed. I understand that writing is difficult for some people, and have experience helping students develop strategies that they can use to create an action plan for writing assignments.  Additionally, I'm available to help students with resume writing, personal essay writing, application writing, creative writing, and writing screenplays. In addition to English- and writing-related subjects, I'm fond of tutoring students who are struggling to complete International Baccalaureate film, philosophy, music, theater, and history classes, as well as helping students with test prep, religious studies, and teaching English as a second language. In my free time, I enjoy reading, traveling, attending the cinema, and soccer.
