Private tutor in Washington, DC
American University - BA, Political Science
I am a tutor located in Washington, DC, with an extensive background in the non-profit and business worlds. I believe each student learns differently, and it is my responsibility to teach the student concepts in a way that makes sense to them. This is done by combining academics, professional experience, and practical concepts to make the material relatable, applicable, and memorable. I have a bachelor's degree in Government and Political Science from American University. Outside of academics, I have been an executive director, entrepreneur, and political candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates. My previous experiences have given me great insight to the value of active listening. It has also given me an appreciation for my ability to work with people who may have different backgrounds than my own. I try to impart these values with each student I work with. I most enjoy tutoring American History, European History, Executive Functioning, AP Comparative Government and Politics, IB Business and Management SL, IB Global Politics SL, Social Studies, Business, Political Science, Special Education, and Marketing. I also help students build solid study habits and organization skills. When I am not tutoring I enjoy spending time with my two boys (ages 7 and 9). I also pursue a diverse range of interests including music, current events, table tennis, and competitive go-kart racing.
