My passion has always been with English. I studied English at the University of Exeter, eventually earning my master's in the subject. I recently acquired my PhD in the UK at the University of London, where I also taught freshman and sophomore students English literature and writing. I've worked in education policy, politics, and research. I've always enjoyed learning and teaching English literature. I love that moment when my students realize they enjoy something they didn't expect. I strive to help students achieve the writing and essay skills necessary to succeed academically, professionally, and personally. I believe that every student can achieve their full potential, if given support and encouragement. By understanding each student's learning style and language, every teacher can give the right explanation of a subject to help the student become successful in their writing. I treat each student with respect and take them seriously. A strong relationship can bolster the efficiency of education, allowing them to learn what they need to. Whether I am helping a student develop their understanding of English grammar and syntax or work through their world history essay, I strive to help my students communicate their ideas successfully. In my spare time I enjoy hiking and canoeing, reading and travelling.
