Barrett J.
Private tutor in Washington, DC
Education
Harvard University - BA, History, 2006, GPA 3.70; Columbia University in the City of New York - MA, Political Science, GPA 3.70, 2009. Graduated valedictorian from high school in 2002. I have a plethora of study abroad experience also (e.g. Oxford, Prague, Geneva, and Florence) and enjoy sharing those experiences.
Experience
The past several years I have privately tutored several middle school and high school students--whether they needed help in specific subject areas or test prep for the PSAT, SAT, and ACT. (I am in the 99% for each/National Merit Scholar). I also have experience in LSAT preparation (I was in the 98%). I am currently on hiatus from Duke Law School. I have also taught undergraduates while I was a graduate student at Columbia University. I truly enjoy serving as a mentor and passing my own knowledge on in a meaningful and effective way. I grew up going to a small private school -- thus, I am more than thoroughly versed in the college application process and can assist in any way (including essays and resume help).

Hobbies
I grew up doing ballet and the arts, so I love the arts. I also love to travel internationally and like to lend that global perspective to younger students. I am originally from Birmingham, AL, so I of course love SEC football! I have been fortunate to have lived in many places around the country and world.
