Daniella S.

Private tutor in Washington, DC

Education

I am a 2011 graduate of Howard University with two BAs in Spanish and Classics. I am currently a graduate student in the online program at the University of Kansas for a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I plan to graduate in 2017.

Experience

I have experience tutoring middle school, English as a Second Language, History, Latin, and SAT/ ACT prep, and Spanish in my various jobs during college and after college. I am currently a high school Latin teacher in the DC area. I teach AP Latin and Latin IV to my 12th graders. I have four years of experience in classroom teaching and ten years as a tutor in small groups or one on one. I also have experience working with adults and students with ADD, ADHD, and various other disabilities. Even though I enjoy teaching my 60+ students, there is nothing like working in a small group to just focus on a particular set of skills. Some of my cherubs ( I call my students that), who received help from me via tutoring still keep in contact with me regarding their college studies. I believe that any student can be taught and that learning should be fun and not burdensome! Specializing the instruction to cater to the learner best fits any situation.
