Experience

I attended both the University of Maryland and the University of Colorado, Boulder during my undergraduate studies, and I am currently entering graduate school. I am working toward a Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics and conducting experiments in the UM physics lab. I can tutor a variety of subjects, including math courses ranging from basic arithmetic to multivariable calculus, calculus 3, and differential equations; physics courses, including Newtonian mechanics and other advanced courses; and many others. I can also help students prepare for tests and exams, including the SAT, ACT, CLEP, ACCUPLACER, and others. When I tutor, I like to promote a relaxed and easy-going learning environment. I like my students to ask questions, because the questions they ask can help me know when they are getting close to the right answer. I help students talk their way through the steps to solve an equation. I don't tell my students the answers, because I believe a good tutor helps lead a student in the right direction until they have a "light bulb" moment and finally understand a concept. When not tutoring, I enjoy Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
