Experienced with teaching in schools and for education nonprofits, I can tutor using a curriculum and am skilled at creating individualized learning plans for students. I am even familiar with the Common Core Standards so can work with public school education programs. I know where to find the right lesson plan strategies and resources to fit any learning style. Also, I'm comfortable working with ESL learners, students behind in their work or overage in their grade, or who have reading disabilities. I tutor math, Spanish, English, reading, writing, college essays, social studies, study skills and SAT, ACT, and GRE test prep.My experience include working with students in Washington D.C., tutoring at public after school programs. This includes working with kindergarten to fifth grade students and teaching/tutoring ESL to adults. I also tutored and co-taught third graders in Nicaragua and led a second grade class while in Liberia. I am as comfortable tutoring as I am teaching. I've attended George Washington University and Georgetown University. When I am not busy teaching or tutoring, I take the time to unwind by reading, swimming, or running. I'm also personally vested in creative writing so have athletic and creative outlets to support me.
