My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and a master's in International Affairs. Completing these degrees provided me with the foundation to begin my tutoring journey. My tutoring background has given me the experience needed to work with students at all ages and levels, including adult learners, international NGO professionals, and U.S. military service members. In my first tutoring session, I strive to connect and build a rapport with my students so that they are comfortable and open with me. This relaxing and stress-free environment opens them up to learning and internalizing information, concepts, and new ideas. I use several different methods of teaching, including websites, handouts, videos, and games. These different methods are aimed toward reaching my students in the way that works best for them. In many subjects, I use real world examples and situations in my lessons in order to help them analyze, understand, and remember the material.I am able to tutor English, writing, ESL/ELL, history (American and European), government and politics, religious studies, public speaking, social studies, and political science. I can also help with advanced placement courses, study skills and organization, and writing college essays. My current hobbies include cooking, photography, and visiting all the Smithsonian museums.
