Experience
I am tutor and teacher living in Washington, D.C. I attended Trinity College for my undergraduate work. I went on to do my graduate work at the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University, where I earned my master's degree in education. I have over six years of experience teaching students in middle and high school level subjects such as social studies, history, English, and literacy. For three years, I have been an educator in the D.C. area, and am very familiar with the CCS curriculum and standardized exams like the SAT and PARCC. Additionally, I can provide tutoring in other subject areas, including ESL/ELL, reading, writing, and the humanities. However, I most enjoy teaching students the basics of writing. As a tutor, I like getting to know students as a way to ascertain what their strengths, interests, and weaknesses are in a given subject. In this manner, I can utilize the most appropriate tools and strategies to motivate and help students become confident in a content area. For me, the academic growth of students is very important, especially if they are to be successful in their future educational endeavors. When I am not teaching or tutoring, I like to read, travel, exercise, cook, and dance.
