Hi there! I have an M.S.Ed, a regular teaching license (grades 1-6) , and work as 1st grade public school teacher in Washington DC. I For the past three years I've taught students of different ages as a classroom teacher and a reading intervention teacher. My speciality is reading. I have the tools and experience to first assess your child and identify their needs or areas of growth and develop a plan or goals of him/her. Then, to provide high-quality, engaging instruction and support to help your child grow in skill, confidence and love of reading. I provide text and materials at appropriate reading levels for your child. I do this through a balanced approach including guided reading, writing, vocabulary work and phonics. I am comfortable tutoring in all elementary school subjects, and in higher level writing/ college essay preparation. I have one year experience working 1 on 1 with high school students as a writing coach in Philadelphia public schools. I am available for sessions during evenings and weekends, and willing to drive to your home or meet in a public setting. I am able to provide professional and personal references, as well as my resume upon request. Thank you! Please reach out with any questions.
